About Me

Adijat O. Ogunyemi, DSW, LMSW, is a Therapist, Professor, and Social Innovator. For over fifteen years, she has worked with individuals, families, and communities to improve their functioning and quality of life through better mental health. Dr. Ogunyemi received her Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California, and her Master’s and Bachelor of Social Work degrees from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. She is a fully Licensed Social Worker in both Clinical & Macro Specialties in the State of Michigan. Her specialties are mental health and substance abuse in primary care and workplace wellness.

In her primary role as a Therapist (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in a community health center, Dr. Ogunyemi provides mental health and substance abuse treatment to individuals in medically underserved communities. She is an Adjunct Professor of Social Work and Sociology, educating future change-makers and equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on society.

As a Social Innovator, Dr. Ogunyemi works to close healthcare gaps by advocating for mental health promotion, protection, and treatment in organizations and communities through many forms of speaking engagements and consulting services. Dr. Ogunyemi works closely with organizations to help improve the workforce’s well-being. She is a wellness educator and advocate who believes a healthy workforce is a successful organization.
